FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Littleton, CO, USA.
ANA Tech's new APOGEE processor powers the Eagle SLI 3840/Plus scanner.
ANA Tech, an Intergraph Division, takes the wraps off its new desktop large format scanner, the Eagle SLI 3840/Plus.
The company's latest model integrates straight line imaging (SLI) technology with its brand new APOGEE processor. According to Gerald Kasten, ANA Tech's director of marketing, "The combination of advanced technologies in the new product delivers a large format image scanner that absolutely leapfrogs past anything similar currently on the market."
While much of the existing image capture technology used in other scanners requires either a slowdown of overall scanning speed, or a reduction of resolution quality when handling difficult, low contrast or dirty originals, the Eagle SLI 3840/Plus produces high resolution data in its final form with no reduction of its throughput rate. The APOGEE processor, featuring ANA Tech's real-time, large aperture thresholding technology, lets users simultaneously scan and threshold documents in the selectable single-pass, dynamic (automatic) mode. In its dynamic mode the Eagle SLI 3840/Plus can fully process, clean up and save to disk even poor quality drawings and blueprints up to 38 by 44 inches (96.5 by 111.8 cm) in just 15 seconds.
With a true resolution of 400 dots per inch (dpi), the Eagle SLI 3840/Plus offers users a variable resolution range of 1 to 800 dpi and 256 levels of grayscale, a spectrum of choices designed to address the needs of a major segment of the large format black and white and/or halftone image scanning market. The new model incorporates internal construction and operating features found exclusively in ANA Tech products. These include the company's patented three-point optics mounting system and its single-pinch document transport roller design. Sleek housing configuration and rugged construction techniques contribute to making the under 100 pound Eagle SLI 3840/Plus readily moveable to any location in a workplace where document scanning may be needed.
The scanner comes with ANA Tech's new SCANsmith software. Developed by the company specifically to set up and operate the Eagle SLI 3840/Plus, the easy-to-use product provides users with numerous image capture and manipulation choices. These include several thresholding options, a wide range of scanning speeds and resolution levels, and dozens of useful tools for working with black and white grayscale and color files. SCANsmith software is compatible with Microsoft Windows(R) 3.1, Windows(R) 95 and Windows NT(tm).
"More and more companies are finding that a large document scanning capability makes good economic sense," said Kasten. "We're hopeful the SLI 3840/Plus' dynamic thresholding, speed versatility and affordability, combined with ANA Tech's reputation for building top quality products will make the 'Plus' very attractive to a lot of those organizations. That's what happened when we launched the SLI 3840. We'd like to see lightning strike twice."
