Contex Americas offers free GIS workshops for wide format scanning at upcoming ESRI User Conference
Contex, the world’s leading developer of wide format scanning and imaging solutions, today announces a series of free workshops for map production and conversion to be held daily at Contex’s booth #513 at the upcoming ESRI User Conference in San Diego, CA, July 12-16.
The workshops will teach attendees how to digitally convert maps to SHP files and to print in large format. They will also provide valuable tips for document management and show how to simplify map and facility drawing conversions. Because seating is limited, prospective participants should register in advance at www.contex.com/esri2010 or contact Contex at 877-226-6839 with questions.
As an added bonus to workshop attendees, Contex is offering extraordinary rebates for its scanner packages. Rebate amounts vary depending on scanner and software package purchased and are available until September 30, 2010.
Contex is helping ESRI users gain the most from their GIS systems using wide-format scanning. The workshops will provide valuable knowledge and will show users how to leverage documents for use with GIS projects.
"Contex is helping ESRI users gain the most from their GIS systems using wide-format scanning. The workshops will provide valuable knowledge and will show users how to leverage documents for use with GIS projects," comments Edward Delaney, Federal Sales Director of Contex Americas. "We are also pleased to extend special rebates on our wide format scanners and mapping and conversion software. Considering the difficult budget conditions for many of our local, state, and federal government customers, the savings will help attendees obtain the necessary scanning tools to add data to their GIS system."
At the ESRI user conference, Contex will demonstrate its SD4400 series wide format scanner solutions with 1200 DPI optical resolution, which is important for contour map conversion. HP will also demonstrate the Contex scanner solutions with its HP Designjet T1200ps 44-inch printer at booth #1507.
Contex offers 36-, 42- and 54-inch wide format scanners with conversion software for ESRI formats. The company recently introduced the XD2490, a lightweight wide format scanner, available with a portable carrying case or a hardened, deployable shipping case for Department of Defense (DOD) users. Contex partners with the leaders in GIS print devices—HP, Canon, and Océ—to provide scan-to-print and distributed printing mapping solutions, which are available through the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) IT Schedule 70 or local resellers.
